THE ADOPTION PROGRAM

This Is The Place Foundation seeks businesses and community organizations to “adopt” buildings at Heritage Village within the Park.

An organization may adopt a building in the Park in its own name or in the name of a prominent 19th century – or more contemporary – pioneer who has had a significant impact on the State of Utah.

An adoption pays for the custodial, horticulture and utility costs for the year, including:

  • Professional custodial (staff) care, and cleaning materials
  • Garden, horticulture, landscaping, lawn services
  • Utilities: electricity and gas
  • Salt Lake City Water and Sewer
  • Miscellaneous repair and maintenance (staff)
  • Fire Protection Systems
  • Security Systems
  • Preservation Systems (special non-deteriorating lighting, glass protection and storage systems)
  • Materials necessary for daily programming activities.

The total of the above items ranges from $600 (minimum) to $11,714 annually, depending upon the building or feature.

BENEFITS OF BUILDING ADOPTION
This Is The Place Foundation will recognize the adopting organization at This Is The Place Heritage Park and in, on, or near the building it adopts. The Park will display an attractive plaque bearing the adopter’s logotype and approved text at the building or attraction during the year, and give the adopter the first option of renewal for the next period. Additionally, the adoption includes recognition in appropriate Park materials and spaces. The adoption may be paid quarterly or annually in advance. Adoptions also may be accomplished with in-kind donations.
