SECOND GRADE
Come join us for a Pioneer experience. We have set up a field trip at This Is The Place that will enhance your social studies curriculum. Your students will discover how life and communities have changed over time.
Our program consists of a visit to an actual log cabin, where the children will discover how families have changed over time. They will have hands on experience when they wash clothes the "pioneer way", beat rugs, and see how families survived in a one room cabin.
Next they will card wool and discover how wool comes from a sheep and turns into a pair of socks.
Our petting coral is always fun! The children will discover what animals the pioneers needed and how they were used. Lastly, they might hear pioneer stories, or visit our barber for a shave or to have a tooth pulled.
