SCHOOL TOURS
Each year we host thousands of students on "This Is The Place to Experience History" field trips. We offer a two-hour "hands on" total environment learning laboratory that is both fun and educational. We match the students' field trip experience to the grade level curriculum, allowing them to return for a new experience each year. We accommodate kindergarten through 7th grade classes.
The students might become a pioneer school class, visit the cabinet maker, do chores, visit the shaving parlor, dance the Virginia Reel, watch the blacksmith, or pull a handcart. They actually experience pioneer life and compare it to modern times.
As one student explained after their school field trip, "That was the coolest park I've ever seen in my life. I love the park!"
Admission is $2.00 per student. Your registration allows 1 adult (including teachers) to accompany every 10 students at no charge. Additional adults will be charged a $5 admission fee. The admission fee is waived for Title One schools.
Your experience will take about 2 hours. If you can stay longer, included with your field trip is a 15-minute train ride on our Promontory Point replica trains. Picnic tables are also available for your group to eat lunch in the Bowery.
Included with your field trip is a 20-minute DVD about Utah History and This Is The Place Heritage Park. You can view the DVD prior to your field trip so your students have more time for hands-on experiences while at the Park.
