FIRST GRADE
The kindergarten/first grade field trip at This Is The Place has been developed to meet your specific curriculum requirements.
Our program consists of a visit to an actual log cabin, where the children will discover how families have changed over time. They will have hands on experience when they wash clothes the "pioneer way", beat rugs, and see how families survived in a one room cabin.
Visiting the petting corral is always a fun experience. The Children will observe many different animals, maybe even babies. (depending on the season)
Next they may experience a "pretend chicken coop"- where they will sort and classify their classmates by looking at their unique characteristics.
Lastly, they may have the opportunity to pretend in our "child-size pioneer playground. Come play pioneer fireman, mom or dad create to your heart's content.
